City on the hill is a non-profit youth organization established in 2018, whose original idea was to combat Chicago's increase in violence with something positive and also to create more diversity in the construction field. The purpose of our organization is to bridge the gap between formal and informal education. The organization provides one on one vocational mentoring services to teens ages 16-21. We are a grassroots organization that has been proven to be a vital component to the improvement of the community.
Our staff members are seasoned veterans all having 15 years or more with lending work to he youth. We have mentors in place that strive to go above and beyond to inspire and drive our mentees. We motivate our students to enroll in programs that further their education and can add to their skillset. We favor the skilled trades industry most, so we educate and prepare our students for assistance with enrolling into an apprenticeship program. City on the Hill will continue to mentor you once completion of apprenticeship is over to help with job placement.
The organization provides education, GED assitance services, access to information about the 24 skilled trades, a sense of community, job placement assistance and more.
